Regulatory Compliance

Framework we operate under

• The Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, which requires animal food to be safe to eat, produced under sanitary conditions, free of harmful substances and truthfully labelled.
• FDA regulations and guidance for animal food, including the preventive-controls and supplier requirements introduced by the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act as they apply to our suppliers.
• State feed and commercial pet food laws, including registration, licensing and labelling rules administered by state departments of agriculture, and the model regulations they draw on.
• Federal and state consumer-protection law on advertising, pricing, subscriptions and reviews.

Labelling

We publish product identity, net quantity, ingredient statements, guaranteed analysis, feeding directions and manufacturer information as supplied by the manufacturer and shown on the physical label. Where a field has not yet been verified against the label, the product page displays an explicit placeholder rather than approximate text.

Claims

We do not make disease, treatment or prevention claims for any food or treat, and we do not describe a product as complete and balanced unless the manufacturer's nutritional adequacy statement supports it. Comparative and superiority claims are only published when we hold substantiation. See our Product Disclaimer.

Supplier verification

Before a product is listed we seek the manufacturer's product specification, current label artwork, facility and registration details, and confirmation of applicable state registrations. Products remain unlisted, or listed with visible placeholders, until that documentation is on file.

Recalls and adverse events

We monitor FDA and manufacturer recall notices for products we stock. If a product we sold is recalled, we stop sales, contact affected customers, and refund or replace the item. Suspected adverse events reported to us are recorded and passed to the manufacturer, and we will tell you how to report to the FDA. Contact your veterinarian first if your dog is unwell.

Consumer protection

Prices, shipping charges, taxes and promotional terms are shown before you pay. Reviews are genuine customer submissions, moderated but never written or purchased by us, and verified-purchase badges are applied only when an order can be matched.
